06/05/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Tyler continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. On the bump, he had a solid showing at the event. He attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo. Fastball showed range of 81-83 mph on a downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and works to get ahead, utilizing both sides of the plate.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Tyler continues to stand out on the mound. This 6'2" LHP dominated again, retiring 13 of the 15 batters he faced with 11 strikeouts. Can place his Fastball (83-86mph) wherever he wants it to find holes in hitter's swings and frustrate them in the process. His delivery is efficient and consistent, hides the ball well and understands how to use his arsenal. His Curveball ranges from 65-68mph with good shape and can put it anywhere in or out of the zone to get hitters to chase. Rounds out his mix with a deceptive Changeup (73-75mph) that he throws with the same arm stroke and speed as his FB. Tyler keeps improving and strengthening his abilities to be an advanced LHP in the 2019 class.

01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Tyler shows great upside as a young prospect on the mound. He already shows feel for 3 pitches that project as above average as he continues to grow and pitch. He features a cut fastball up to 80mph, a big 12-6 curve and a developing changeup. He drives hard to the plate and the ball jumps on hitters to add extra deception to his pitches. His direction and stride will lead to improved command as his arm continues to get stronger. This left hander shows the makings of an effective starter at the next level.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Rigot is a projectable lefty who has worked very hard and showed well on the mound during his time in Florida. This lefty works at a quick tempo and pounds the zone with strikes. FB cracks the mitt at 82 mph while showing good run. He mixes his pitches well and works the ball to both sides of the plate, challenging hitters. Curveball has 1/7 shape with 'sweeping' action. Changeup has sink and is thrown with FB arm speed. He drives off of the rubber with his lower 1/2 and fires from a long/loose arm action. He hides the ball well showing some deception out of his hand. He has quick footwork and picks off well - keeping runners close. With the bat - Tyler has a simple/athletic setup with a strong base. He whips the barrel and engages his lower 1/2, creating hard pop off of the barrel with power to his pull-side. Tyler (2019 grad) has a very high ceiling and will compete every time he takes the mound. He won the "most outstanding pitcher" award at the event as well.

09/30/2015 - Arizona Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic Tyler continues to show as a LHP/1B with improvements in his baseball tools and has a promising future on the diamond. On the bump, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity at 78 mph. He shows a sound / repeatable delivery, working in line and on time allowing his arm to work loose / free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 73-78 mph with good arm side run and has quality off speed stuff that will get outs at the next level. He attacks hitters as he throws strikes with all his pitches, changing speeds well with plus deception. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. At 1B, defensive abilities are now slightly above average as he works to square balls up, displaying clean hands. Foot work around the bag is solid and is a quality receiver. At the plate, he shows a closed setup with balance. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power grades will increase as he works to stay back and utilizes his lower half more aggressively. At the event, he was 1 for 5 with 3 BB as he displays a solid eye and patient approach. Mental makeup continues to show as a plus tool as he is a great teammate and is a student of the game.

07/24/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Rigot continues to show as a LHP/1B and has really improved his baseball abilities since we last saw him. He has a promising future on the diamond. Currently, he projects best on the bump for the next level, though we like how his bat has progressed as well. On the mound, he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 77 mph. Fastball showed a range of 74-77 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for this pitch. Off speed stuff is effective as well. His control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches, while showing a good tempo and feel for pitching. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver, displaying soft and clean hands. Quickening his footwork and developing more range are areas he can work on to improve defensively. At the plate, hands are quick and he has strength in his swing. The baseball jumps off the bat when centered as he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields and displaying gap to gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he works hard and is very coachable.

12/27/2013 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic Tyler is a young two-way player who is very smart, and he communicates well with teammates and coaches. On the mound, Tyler is a very consistent LHP with sinking action to his pitches and he has command over three pitches (FB CB CH) due to his ability to finish and extend through his pitches. He holds runners well and simply knows how to pitch. As he continues to improve his ability to use more of his lower half, Tyler will keep trending upward as a lefty on the mound. Defensively at 1B, Tyler has solid footwork, a good glove, he picks well, and he has great field awareness. He is still improving his footwork and becoming a more consistent defender at 1B. As a hitter, Tyler has a great mental approach and a very balanced, consistent swing. Continuing to learn how to incorporate his lower half and increase his bat speed will help him grow as a hitter. This was the best he has performed to date at one of our events, and Tyler understands the game as good as any 7th grader we see. The next big jump in his evaluation/tools will likely come with some physical maturity within the next couple of years. He is always a pleasure to coach.

07/26/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Tyler always excels at our events. He is a young player who has a positive attitude and is eager to learn and improve. He has cut his 60 yard dash time by another half second. In the infield, he has a good pre-pitch routine, and soft hands while receiving the ball at first. He needs to work on getting to the bag sooner and getting himself into an athletic position starting from the ground up. On the mound is where he really excels, showing solid mechanics. He gets good arm extension through all of his pitches, showing a controlled balance point and on time separation. Tyler varies his looks and holds, and is a competitor on the mound. He can work on keeping his elbow up, which will help with accuracy and keeping his arm healthy. He can also work on a better drive towards the plate with his lower half. At the plate, he squares the ball up and puts it in play. He had some clutch hits during the tournament. He can work on rhythm in his swing and getting his lower half more involved. Tyler shows a positive attitude and is a "yes sir" type player. He kept his composure in tough spots on the mound and his body language never waivers. Tyler's work ethic will afford him continued success as he physically matures.

07/07/2013 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Tyler is a good kid who plays hard and loves the game. On the mound he displays a smooth delivery/tempo, stays in-line and finishes well. Also he throws strikes and has a very good CB but he needs to work downhill and lengthen stride. During game play, he shows a very good pick off move. As a 1B, Tyler understands the position and he has good hands but flexibility and quickness/agility need to improve. Once this happens, he will be more fluid over at 1B. At the plate he is quiet, his balance is good and his lower half works but he can work on keeping his hands up, and not barring his arm during his load. He can also stay more level and allow the ball to travel into the proper hitting zone. Though he is still very young, he reminds us of a young Jimmy Key on the mound, which is obviously a great comparison!

01/18/2013 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at the Yankees Training Complex Tyler continues to show he is a solid player. On the mound, he shows a smooth consistent delivery with good command. He showed improvement finishing his pitches reaching an athletic position. He can work on making sure he trusts his pitches and doesn't guide the ball. Defensively, he shows smooth actions and an understanding of positioning. Tyler can work on agility drills to improve his overall foot speed. Offensively, he still shows an aggressive approach with hard contact. He can be a little bit more narrow with his stance to improve leverage in his swing. Tyler is very coachable and shows potential to be a special player at the next level.

11/15/2012 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Tyler displayed good potential and a great attitude while in Pirate City. He improved in a few areas since we last saw him this past summer. On the mound, he very much looks the part as he is under control with his actions. He changes speeds well, pitches to contact, he has repeatable mechanics and he fields his position well. However he has a tendency to cut off, he is a little stiff on his front leg and he needs to get his chest out over his lead leg. Also Tyler will benefit from a long toss program for arm strength. As a fielder he is smooth, he has a good fielding position and he fields out front. He needs to quicken his feet, take better routes to the ball and work on his picks. At the plate he has an aggressive approach, tracks the ball well and he uses the entire field. He tends to dive in, drift forward, and not finish his swing at times, so he can work on those areas. Tyler showed a fantastic attitude in Pirate City, he has a great approach to the game, and he is a very good teammate. A team full of guys like him will be a winning team.

07/25/2012 - Interactive Video Program - Greenville, SC Tyler is a 2-way player who pitches and plays 1st base. On the mound, Tyler has a long arm action, a controlled balance point, and level shoulders. He has good direction toward home, he lands in a square position, and he is around the plate with his pitches. Defensively, Tyler presents his glove well, he makes plays, and he fields in a low position. His exchange is clean, and he throws with a long arm action with accuracy to his target. At the plate, Tyler has a square set-up, good balance, and a level swing. He keeps his head on the ball, he can work it gap-to-gap, and he uses some lower 1/2. Abilities can improve with work on the following.

Pitching
1. Eyes on target
2. Finish
3. Rhythm
Defense
1. Field out in front
2. Play lower
3. Long toss
Offense
1. Bat speed
2. Avoid over-rotating

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
