09/22/2019 - College PREP - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Tyler is an athletic LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 82 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 75-77 mph with 1/7 shape with gradual break. Changeup sits from 77-80 mph with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. With 2 years to further develop, Tyler has upside on the mound and will get looks from collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
