01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Tyler is a 2022 prospect out of Columbia, MO who continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities and did so at the Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt, tracks the ball well and sticks pitches in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.16 with carry (82 mph velocity) on his throws. At the plate, power potential is now outstanding through an open setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, he has a 3-pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. FB shows a range of 78-82 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Tyler has a lot of potential and will get looks from collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Tyler is talented, athletic, 2-way player who catches and pitches. Defensively, Tyler has good actions, active feet, and he blocks and receives very well. He has a soft glove, agile range, and a strong/accurate arm to 2nd base. Raw velocity was clocked at 91 MPH, and pop times as low as 2.2 seconds. On the mound, Tyler has a simple delivery, a loose/clean arm circle, and he separates his hands on time. His FB ranged from 78-82 MPH, and his CB shows sharp break. Offensively, Tyler has a crouched stance, comfortable hands, and he centers the ball well. He has fast bat speed, swings in good rhythm, and finishes through the baseball well.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
