01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Tyler is an athletic 2027 C/RHP who showcased his talents at the BF Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament. Behind the plate, he presents a good target to the pitcher and has an athletic secondary stance. He throws from a high ¾ arm slot and has a 2-handed exchange. His top pop time of the event was 2.00 seconds. Tyler does a great job tucking his chin and squaring his body up to the ball while blocking. He also has a great spine angle and gets quick to his feet on balls in dirt. At the plate, he has a square stance, low hands, and a small load. He has a compact swing path and good bat speed. His top exit velocity was 85 mph and he showcased some pop to the pull side. On the mound, he was very effective. His fastball had good run and a top velocity of 81 mph. He paired that with a breaking ball that had 10-4 break. Tyler also showcased a splitter that kept hitters off balance and was deceiving. In game, he had great balance and had a good stride line towards the plate. He had 3 strikeouts and no runs in his outing. As he goes into his first year of high school baseball, we expect to see Tyler continue to grow and mature.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
