04/30/2017 - College PREP - Atlanta, GA Tyler is a solid, strong C/SS who is a prospect on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line to his target through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed a range of 1.90-2.00 as he will control the running game with his feet / arm. Hands are soft / sure and he tracks balls well through the receiving process. He uses his body well through the blocking process and moves well laterally, centering all balls out front. In the MIF, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up and plays through with his body. Hands are soft / sure and he presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turn of the double play. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting / power potential. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and works through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. With 3 years to further develop, Tyler has the makings of a special type player and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
