12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic (MS) Tyler continues to establish himself as a promising prospect, showcasing improved defensive abilities behind the plate and a developing power profile at bat. He presents a soft, sure mitt with strong pocket awareness, using his body effectively for blocking balls out front. His pop times now stand at 2.56, and a long toss program will help him further lower those times by building arm strength. Offensively, Tyler’s power has become increasingly apparent, with an open setup and quick hands (82 mph exit velocity) working through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields via a line-drive approach and flashing gap-to-gap pop thanks to an aggressive hip turn in his lower half. A coachable, team-focused player, Tyler is poised to keep elevating his game.

07/18/2024 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC Tyler is a 2029 catcher out of Santa Barbara, CA who continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.69. At the plate, he showed an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At the event, he was 3 for 6 with a 3B and 3 RBI. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Tyler is a 5 ft 3/123 C/3B in the 2029 class. Recently, he impressed scouts with his overall level of play at the West Coast Winter Classic. Behind the plate, he has an athletic feel and presents a solid target. He keeps his eyes behind the ball and maintains the strike zone. He replaces his feet well on his throws and his catch to release actions are clean. Gains a high 3/4 arm slot to produce pop times at 2.70. His level of blocking improved during the week and did an outstanding job in individual defense. At the plate, he had an excellent week. He registered 4 quality AB's with 3 hits, 1 BB and an RBI. He shows great barrel control and a feel for the strike zone. He looks to drive his pitch and rarely expands the zone. Overall, Tyler is a fine player with great starting points. Scouts believe he will develop into a fine prospect and look forward to seeing him soon.

12/10/2023 - National Showcase - Thousand Oaks, CA Tyler is an athletic C/3B who will graduate in 2028. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner and improve lateral movement. Pop times showed in 2.87 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. At 3B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork and works to squared balls up. Hands are clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
