07/19/2010 - College PREP - Carrollton (DFW), TX Tyler is a young SS with a average, thin frame that shows projection as he continues to physically mature, filling out. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.22 60 time. Feet are active as he moves well laterally to his glove side but needs to be more aggressive in coming to get, playing through the baseball with his body. Hands are soft but deep due to feet stopping through the fielding process. Throws show accuracy but must get on a long toss program to aid in further developing carry on throws. Offensively, White shows a balanced approach and makes consistent contact but has some mechanical flaws that are hindering him from reaching his full potential with grades improving with instruction and adjustments. With 2 years to further develop, Tyler has abilities with a lot of room and time to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
