01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Tynan continues to impress and turn heads with his abilities on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with pro level power. Hands are explosive generating + bat speed (101 mph exit velocity) through an aggressive swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he has strength in his swing, driving the ball deep to all fields. At 1B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft/sure and he showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt, saving throws. Feet/hands work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy/carry on his throws. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Gunn (only a 2022 grad) is one to watch in this only his junior season.

08/10/2020 - All-In Membership - Sugar Land (Houston), TX This strong RHH 1B continues to shine at the plate. Offensively, he steps into the box with a purpose looking to do damage. He engages his strong lower 1/2, whips the barrel with + bat speed and connects with pop. He creates good extension through contact and drives the ball to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 98 mph). At 1B, he hustles into a square fielding position behind the GB. He tracks the ball into his mitt and makes the plays with soft hands. Gunn will be a run producer and will make an impact in this his junior year.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Tynan is a strong 1B/RHP prospect who showcased his skills at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Tynan gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He throws with a quick arm and keeps his throws accurate with life through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is on time getting into a simple load and drives through well with his lower half. He produces fast bat speed through the zone, leading to loud contact and gap to gap power. On the mound, Tynan starts with a simple rock step and separates his hands on time, He works with a quick arm and stays inline towards the plate. Tynan shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 67-70mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 70-74mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Tynan is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his freshman season.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
