Tyson Izzo is a highly athletic 2025 C prospect who stood out for his exceptional defensive skills. Tyson quickly became a favorite among his pitching staff, as they were able to throw breaking balls with confidence, knowing Tyson would block everything. His ability to present a steady target made it easier for pitchers to locate their pitches, while his quick exchange and accurate arm made it difficult for opponents to run on him.
At the plate, Tyson exhibits a relaxed and disciplined approach, evidenced by his ability to draw 4 walks in 9 plate appearances. He also collected a hit and an RBI, contributing significantly to his team’s offense. With a .667 on-base percentage, Tyson was among the tournament's top performers. Additionally, he demonstrated his base-running prowess by successfully stealing 4 bases.

Tyson is an athletic catcher in the 2025 class. Scouts love his work ethic and feel he is extremely coachable. Defensively, he has an athletic set-up and is a firm receiver. Has a strong secondary position and replaces his feet well on his throws. Has a short arm action and uses a 3qtr release. Working to throw the top of the baseball will improve carry and accuracy. He is quick to his knees on blocks and centers his body to the baseball. At the plate, he begins with an open stance and comfortable hands. Gets into his load well and weight stays inside his feet. Hands are fast at 82 exit velo and has a line drive approach. Overall, Tyson is a solid catching prospect in the 2025 class.

Tyson is a Catcher in the 2025 class. Behind the plate, he is quiet and has agile feel. Eyes stay behind the baseball well and his glove beats the ball to the spot. Shows flexibility with mobile hips and can push through the ground on his throws. Runs well for a catcher at 7.28 60. At the plate, he begins in a squared stance and uses a short stride. Gains separation and timing is smooth. Stays inside his feet well and shows a level path with extension. Creates line drive production to all fields. Overall, Tyson is a must follow in the 2025 class.
12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2
Tyson continues to show well in his baseball abilities on the diamond. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in 2.31 range with accuracy / carry (82 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At the event, he was 3 for 6 with a HR. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
08/13/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Spokane, WA
Tyson raised arm velocity to 79 MPH, lowered 60 time to 7.17, and showed a nice spike in hitting at his last workout. Behind the plate, Tyson has active feet, agile range, and athletic actions. He sits in squarely, blocks and receives well, and throws with a short/quick arm to 2nd base. At SS, Tyson gets in a good ready position and takes good angles to field. He makes plays, moves through the ball, and throws with accuracy across the diamond. At the plate, Tyson is a strong hitter, he has good bat speed, and he makes hard contact. He stands in squarely, hits line drives, and shows good pop in his bat.

Tyson is a solid 2025 catching prospect. His current ability to receive puts him towards the top of his class. The pocket awareness, glove presence, and being able to stay quiet behind the plate are all qualities that will help him continue to develop as a catcher. At the plate he has a solid set up with and ability to make consistent contact. With growth and repetitions he has potential to become a well-rounded catcher in the class.

Tyson is a coachable SS/C prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Tyson shows active footwork with a quick first step. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is quick and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He gets into a simple load and remains centered in his lower half. He works through a short swing and drives the ball from gap to gap. Overall, Tyson is a talented prospect who will be one to follow as he continues to progress.
02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (MS - East)
Tyson is an athletic and versatile SS/C that can play anywhere. Behind the dish, Tyson shows an athletic primary stance and a confident glove that allows him to receive pitches well. In the secondary, he shows great foundations and replaces his feet well as he works to throw. His exchanges are quick and clean delivering the ball to the bag with accuracy. Blocking, Tyson shows strong footwork and the ability to keep the ball in front. Hitting, he goes to work with a tall stance and comfortable hands getting the swing started with a simple stride. He gets his foot down on time allowing him to get a short swing off to make consistent contact to all fields. Tyson showed that he was a hard worker at the event that can compete and be successful at almost any position. His athleticism will allow him to continue to grow and develop. We look forward to seeing his progress.
Academic All-American Tournament (MS)
Tyson is a 2025 SS. In the field, Tyson shows efficient and good reads off the bat. Creates good fielding angles as he fields from an athletic and low fielding position. Clean transfer into a 3/4 release point with accurate throws at 74mph. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Compact swing who shows good barrel control and an ability to backspin balls into both gaps. Recorded a bat exit velocity of 71mph. Tyson should have a bright future on the baseball field with continued growth and development.

Tyson is a SS prospect who showcased his skills during the All-Region Tournament. In the field, Tyson shows active footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and makes on-line throws across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to consistent line drives. Overall, Tyson is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic (Ages 12-14)
Tyson continues to shine on the diamond. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

Tyson is a coachable SS/C prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Cleveland All Star Experience. In the field, Tyson takes a good first step and shows quick footwork. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to his target. Tyson can improve defensively by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and line drives. Activating his hands more in his load can help Tyson improve as a hitter. With six more years to develop, Tyson has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14)
Tyson is an athletic and talented 2025 SS prospect. At SS, Tyson starts in an athletic stance, has a quick first step to the ball, and fields the ball in an athletic position. He's aggressive to the ball and makes the routine play. He needs to continue to present a low/early glove, improve his range, and build arm strength. At the plate, Tyson starts in a squared stance, keeps the barrel on plane to the ball, and has a quick bat. Continuing to load his hands back into the drive position, creating backside drive with his lower half, and attacking the fastball will allow him to be more consistent driving the ball to all fields. Tyson will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tyson is a thin, athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and catcher. In the INF, Tyson has active feet, good pre-pitch actions, and he fields in an athletic position. He has good range, a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy across the diamond. Behind the plate, Tyson has efficient footwork, he sticks the ball well, and recovers quickly from blocking. He has a clean exchange and good direction to 2nd base. At the plate, Tyson has a tall stance, he loads well, and hits from a solid base. He swings aggressively, has a consistent/direct barrel, and he uses his lower body. Overall skills can get better if Tyson can work on the following.
