01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Vance is a C/SS prospect who showcased his skills during the Pre-Season All-America Tournament. Behind the dish, Vance shows efficient footwork and covers up well when blocking. He sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate/on-line throws to the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth to load and leads well with his lower half. He works through a level swing and sprays the ball to all fields. Overall, Vance is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

07/28/2021 - Baseball Factory Southwest Championships 17U Vance is a coachable 2022 SS/RHP prospect who showcased his skills at the Southwest Championship. At SS, he starts in a relaxed posture, with smooth actions, and gets good reads off of the bat. He gets into his fielding position on-time, with relaxed hands, and has a 2-hand transfer. Accurate throws from multiple arm slots and an arm velocity of 83mph. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and square stance with comfortable hands. Was centered at contact and showed good barrel control with good extension through the baseball. Hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 80mph during BP. During the games, he reached base 4 times with a triple, a double, a single, and reached on base via the walk. On the mound, he keeps his eyes level and rotates well to his target. In the game, he worked 1 inning and only showed a FB that sat 76-77mph with some sinking action. He didn't allow a hit and struck out 1 hitter. Vance is a solid 2-way prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field with continued development.

03/21/2021 - All-In Membership - Phoenix , AZ Vance is a lean, athletic C/SS who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a firm mitt, sticking balls in the zone. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Receiving / blocking skills show as outstanding tools that will play well at the next level. Pop times showed in 2.02 range with accuracy / carry (85 mph velocity) on his throws. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active and attacks balls, playing through well with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his quick feet (7.27 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with solid power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Vance has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
