12/19/2009 - Christmas Camp and Tournament #1 Vando is a thick, strong, OF that will graduate in 2010. In the OF, he takes decent routes to the baseball and releases the ball well out of his hand. If Vando can quicken his feet, and strengthen his arm, we could see improvement in his defensive skills. Offensively, Vando has good balance and bat speed. He shows flashes of having raw power, and with more use of his strong lower 1/2 we could see more power from Vando.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
