11/30/2014 - College PREP - Fort Myers, FL Victor is a skilled backstop who has a solid all-around skill-set. With the bat, this RHH shows a balanced approach with patience as he tracks the pitch into the zone. He squares the ball up and drives it with strength to all parts of the field. Swinging on a shorter/more direct swing path will result in increased pop off of the barrel. Behind the dish, Victor sits will with a good base and tracks the ball into his mitt. He is quick around pitches in the dirt and works to center them off of his chest. Exchange is clean as he fires accurate throws to 2B (pop times of 2.20). Developing quicker footwork and gaining more ground toward his target will help to lower pop times. Only a 2017 grad - Victor has the skill set that will provide success now and will only continue to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
