11/11/2012 - College PREP - Fresno, CA Vince is a tall, athletic 3B/RHP that will graduate in 2014 with a strong lower half. Feet are active as he works to square balls up, displays proper foot work and displays clean hands. He needs to improve foot quickness and play through balls to continue to improve defensive grade. Hands are soft / sure and he presents well out front. Throws are accurate, flashing carry as he will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Forcella shows a balanced approach with rhythm. Hands are loose and he makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. He needs to work to keep hands inside the ball, increase bat speed and get front foot down sooner to work on time and improve hitting grade. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 74-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. He throws a split finger that shows potential as being a quality pitch at the next level, displaying solid sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained and he improves his control. With 2 years to further develop, Vince has abilities with time and room to improve.
