06/15/2013 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Vincent competed as a LHP/1B in the tournament setting with Baseball Factory. On the mound, he threw three pitches for strikes, topping out at 74 MPH. He is a sidearm pitcher that has a lot of movement. His 2/8 curve-ball is his best pitch that disappears on hitters. He throws a lot of strikes and is deceptively effective. Not only did he perform well, he was also willing to take any pointers from coaches on how to improve. At 1B, he has playable footwork and okay range. With the bat, he has a simple, clean swing, but does not generate very much bat speed. We believe Damato projects best as a pitcher at the next level.

12/02/2012 - College PREP - McCook (Chicago), IL Vincent is a thin but athletic 2014 pitcher. He throws a curveball and changeup to go with a running fastball. His arm action is sound and easy and he has good rhythm throughout his delivery. Throws strikes and works down in the zone consistently. He gets some arm-side run on the fastball, and throws a 2/8 shaped curveball with sharp break. He gets similar arm-side movement on his changeup, though he needs to back off of the velocity of this pitch some. He handles the bat ok, delivering the barrel efficiently and using the whole field. He gets good separation with his hands but doesn't have much acceleration through contact. Needs to get stronger overall, but has good mound presence.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
