08/29/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Baltimore, MD Vincent DeFranco is a C/SS that recently played at the All-Ripken Games. His delivery and mechanics are solid as he is able to repeat the same motion routinely. He gave up a few hits, but his upside is very high on the mound. Behind the plate he receives his pitching staff extremely well. At shortstop he is prepared for every pitch as he does the same routine and good prep step every pitch. At the plate his mechanics are also very solid which is why he can afford to sling with bad intentions. He seems to be a little timid in there but doesn't need to be as his swing is fundamentally sound and he doesn't swing and miss often. Those are easy fixes and this kid will be on coach's radars for the foreseeable future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
