01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Walker is a SS prospect who showcased his skills during the Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament. In the field, Walker shows efficient footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate/on-line throws through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes his stride on time. He is fluid to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a direct swing and produces line drives to all fields. Overall, Walker is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

07/23/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Walker is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Walker shows efficient footwork and fields in an athletic position. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, working to keep them accurate to his target. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Walker improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a controlled stride. He is fluid getting his hands activated in his load and hits against a strong front side. He gets good extension through the ball with decent bat speed, leading to consistent line drives. Walker can improve as a hitter by continuing to add strength. On the mound, Walker gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Walker shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 54-57mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 57-58mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Finishing with his chest square to the plate can help Walker improve as a pitcher. With four more years to develop, Walker has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
