Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

10/23/2021 - Fall Pro Training Experience - Nor Cal (HS) Warren is a 1B/RHP who will graduate in 2025. Large frame with plenty of physical projection remaining. At 1B, he starts with efficient feet and fields from the ground up. Creates good fielding angles and keeps eyes behind glove on backhand. Long arm action into a high 3/4 release point with accurate/on-line throws to second base at 73mph. Showed good footwork around bag. On the mound, Warren works with good direction and is balanced at release. Keeps his eyes on target and keeps frontside closed. Throws a FB that topped out at 73mph and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with tight spin and good depth. Showed ability to field his position. In 2 innings of work during live games, Warren struck out one and didn't allow many hits. A right-handed hitter, starts with a tall and open stance. Athletic setup, with a square stride, enables him to drive balls to all fields. Showed good awareness of the strike zone and hit a double in live game action. He also had multiple RBI’s and recorded a bat exit velocity of 81mph. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Warren continues to improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 1B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. His feet play well, and he moves with good body control to the baseball, displaying proper footwork around bag. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows good barrel accuracy with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 62 mph. Fastball showed a range of 61-62 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

11/09/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Fremont (San Jose), CA Warren is an athletic, 2-way player who plays 1B and RHP. Defensively, Warren has active feet, he centers the ball well, and he fields athletically. He works around the ball well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and momentum to his target. On the mound, Warren keeps his eyes on target, he has good glove side lead, and he gets good pivot off of his back foot. At the plate, this RHH has an athletic stance, good balance, and a rhythmic swing. He has fast bat speed, good pop in his bat, and he hits to all fields using his lower body. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral movements
2. Quicken feet
Pitching
1. Separation
2. Finish
3. Direction
Offense
1. Stay short

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
