04/05/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Myrtle Beach, SC Wes showed off his versatility, skill set and impact bat in Myrtle Beach at the Pre-Season All-Ripken Games. His offensive performance was highlighted by 3 doubles thanks to quick hands and natural feel for the barrel. He is disciplined at the plate, stays inside the ball and shows a mature 2-strike approach. When he keeps his swing short he consistently makes hard contact. He is a solid defender at 1B where he provides a good target and has good feel around the bag. Wes also got on the mound showing solid mechanics with a fastball up to 56 mph. He gets good downhill plane to his offerings and is extremely effective when he is in the strike zone. With a projectable frame and an excellent foundation, Wes has a high ceiling on the diamond!

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
