01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Wesley is a lean and athletic 2022 OF prospect. In the OF, Wesley is on time with his prep step, he has good jumps on the ball, and he creates good angles to the ball. He works behind the ball, he creates momentum with his lower half, and he makes accurate throws. At the plate, Wesley starts in a squared stance, he has a simple load, and gets his lower half through contact. He attacks the inside part of the ball and is a line drive hitter. Wesley is a competitors and we hope to see his progress in the future.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Wesley is an athletic OF prospect who showcased his skills at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Wesley takes a good first step and displays quick footwork. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball with soft, sure hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into a simple load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a compact swing with fast bat speed, leading to line drives into the gaps. Overall, Wesley is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his freshman season.

07/23/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Wesley continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, he has improved his hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through an uphill swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. In the OF, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 66 mph. Fastball showed a range of 61-64 mph. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

05/21/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Wesley is a lean/athletic OF/RHP. Defensively in the OF, he hustles well as he gets behind on fly balls. He fields GB's in a low/athletic position and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. On the hill, this righty keeps his eyes on target and delivers from a 3/4 arm slot. He throws a 3-pitch mix as he separates on time and work in line towards home plate. With the stick, Wesley displays an athletic setup with smooth rhythm to load. He takes aggressive hacks through the zone as he consistently barrels up pitches in the zone. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Quick 1st step
2. Develop soft hands
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Pitching
1. Repeat delivery
2. Develop CH
3. Use lower 1/2
Offense

2. Lower 1/2 drive
3. Use middle of field approach

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
