04/22/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Louisville, KY Weston continues to show progress in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. On the bump, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his loose, quick arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 75 mph. Fastball showed range of 71-75 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. At 3B, he shows smooth clean actions. He displays proper footwork in creating proper angles in attacking and playing through balls with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness.

04/09/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Louisville, KY Weston continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate through a low 3/4 arm slot. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 71 mph. Fastball showed a range of 68-71 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Changeup shows arm side run but is too hard, resembling fastball velocities. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 3B, feet are active as he attacks balls but needs to play through more with his body. Hands are clean but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup with balance. Hands stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Weston is a hardworking RHP/3B prospect who is well-built and graduates in 2019. On the mound, Weston has an on-time delivery throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He gets good extension through his release and has a controlled landing. Weston features a fastball with good arm side run and a 10-4 o'clock breaking curveball. Offensively, Weston has a tall, open stance with a centered balance. He leads his swing with his lower and has a long swing path. Weston has an aggressive approach and battles at the plate. He is a contact hitter who is a tough out. In the field, Weston does a nice job working around the baseball to field it in a square position. He presents his glove and receives the ball with soft hands. Weston can throw from multiple angles depending on the play. Overall, Weston is a hustler who has a strong work ethic and a solid foundation.

11/13/2016 - College PREP - Germantown (Memphis), TN Weston is a lean, athletic RHP/SS who will graduate in 2019. On the mound, he has a very repeatable delivery and displays loose, clean arm action. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball sitting from 62-69 mph with late sinking action. Breaking ball ranges from 58-61 mph with 10/4 break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup as it sits from 60-62 mph with sink. He can improve as a pitcher by incorporating a long toss program to build up his arm strength. At the plate he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive approach. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. At 3B, feet are active as he squares balls up will benefit by attacking balls and playing through with his body. Hands are soft / clean and present well out front. Range will improve as he increases foot quickness. With 3 years to further develop, Weston has abilities with a lot of room to continue to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
