09/17/2023 - National Showcase - Highland Park (DFW), TX Weston is a 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2027. A young/developing player with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At 3B he works to center the baseball and works into a low fielding position. 1-hand field in alley and gets rid of the baseball. Has a quick release with ability to throw from multiple arm slots and an arm velocity up to 82mph. On the mound he gathers over the rubber and has level eyes. He has a simple and repeatable delivery. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 73-75mph, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and a changeup he throws with FB arm speed that has some arm side run. CB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate he hits from a tall and open stance. A simple setup to start and takes an aggressive swing. Keeps bat flat in the zone for a long time and made square contact. During his round of BP, he hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 77mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
