07/29/2008 - Under Armour Southwest Regional Tournament - 2008 Allen improved his power ratings with consistent solid contact at the plate during the tourney. He has a balanced stance, strength to all fields and can stay down through the hitting zone. He has much more power potential in his bat if he can keep his top hand on the bat longer. He should focus on creating more rhythm is his swing and polishing his pre pitch load. Defensively he has all the necessary tools to be a plus outfielder. Allen creates good routes and angles to and through the baseball. He is very athletic and has a strong, accurate arm. His foot speed allows him to cover a lot of ground but I wound like to see him focus on maximizing his potential in this area.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
