11/08/2024 - Baseball Factory West Coast Fall Training (MS) William is a hardworking second baseman and right-handed pitcher from New Orleans, LA, who made notable progress at the Baseball Factory West Coast Fall Training in Arizona. Defensively, he fields from a low position with a solid glove angle, using quick footwork to make accurate throws. His instincts and ability to adjust on the fly make him a reliable presence in the infield. On the mound, William works exclusively from the stretch, keeping his glove centered and effectively getting his chest to his glove during his delivery. He throws a fastball with potential but will need to focus on improving his command, arm strength, and overall mechanics as he matures. As a right-handed hitter, William shows excellent discipline at the plate with a quiet head and eyes, tracking pitches well. His lower half turn generates solid contact, and he consistently puts the ball in play. While still a young, developing player, William has plenty of time to refine his skills across all phases of the game. His strong foundation, work ethic, and dedication to improvement suggest a bright future as he continues to grow and evolve as a player.

06/15/2024 - BF Evaluation Experience at Pigeon Forge William is a lean 2B who has a promising future on the diamond. At 2B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square ground balls up and plays through with his body. Glove action is firm and presents out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 8 years to further develop, William has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
