08/30/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Cooperstown, NY William, a Gorham, Maine prospect, showcased his versatility while playing for Team Freedom at the All-Ripken games in Cooperstown, NY. He played multiple defensive positions, demonstrating adaptability and a solid understanding of the game. At the plate, he consistently put balls in play, applying pressure on the defense and showing an ability to track pitches effectively. However, his mechanics indicated that his bat tended to drag through the zone. Focusing on developing a more efficient bat path in practice will be beneficial. Additionally, working on a shorter swing through targeted drills will enhance his bat-to-ball skills. With continued development, William has the potential to make significant strides in his game

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
