01/28/2024 - National Showcase - Jacksonville , FL William is a 2027 SS prospect that continues to show growth on the baseball diamond. At short, he does a great job pre-pitch of getting in a ready position. He shows off efficient movements and does a great job of squaring up the baseball. He presents firm hands out in front when fielding and does well to work through his backhand. He has a clean exchange and he makes accurate throws to his targets with a release that creates momentum. He does a great job of opening up his hips on double play balls. He recorded a solid raw velo of 75 MPH. At the plate, he starts in a squared stance and has an on-time stride with a good load back. He shows off fluid movements and good balance and he does a great job of working through the ball with his lower half. He stays inside the ball and with a swing path that is short and on-plane. He makes consistent contact and has a good barrel rate. William is an intriguing prospect that we are looking forward to seeing more of in the future!

01/12/2024 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Sarasota William is a 2027 SS prospect who showcased his skills during the BF Spring Training in Sarasota. At SS he plays with good effort and energy. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 74mph. At the plate he hits from a square and athletic stance. He starts with a short/square glide step and is centered at contact. A direct barrel path enables him to hit line drives consistently to all fields. In live game action he reached base 2 times with a walk and reached on an error. William showed steady improvement all weekend. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

11/02/2023 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at JRTC William is an athletic SS in the 2027 class. In the field, he shows great feet and likes to attack the baseball with controlled aggression. Displays soft hands and can redirect the baseball with clean actions. Arm plays at 74 and will only improve as he gains strength. At the plate, scouts like his ability to generate hard contact to all fields. He sees the baseball well and rarely expands the zone. He begins in a squared stance with high hands. Working to transfer his energy to his front side will flatten out his swing path. Had a solid showing on the weekend with 3 hits and 2 BBs. Overall, William is a future star.

09/24/2023 - National Showcase - Jacksonville , FL William is an athletic SS who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he works around ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Backhand is solid as he plays through well. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 4 years to further develop, William has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
