08/11/2010 - College PREP - Bear (Wilmington), DE William is a young (2015) two-way player at SS plus on the mound with a thin frame that shows projection as he continues to physically mature. Currently he projects best at SS for the next level. Feet are active as he makes the routine plays but needs to be more aggressive in coming to get, playing through the ball with his body. Glove action is clean but late due to feet stopping through the fielding process. Throws are accurate but must needs to get on a long toss program to aid in further developing more carry and arm strength. Offensively, Stranahan shows a solid setup with hands working through a level swing path as he uses the middle of the field but has some mechanical flaws that are hindering him from reaching his full potential at the plate with grades improving with instruction and adjustments at the plate. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 67-70 mph with slight arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/5 shape with loose spin and gradual break. Changeup shows a feel for but slows arm speed, tipping off pitch. With 5 years to further develop, William has abilities with time and room to improve.
