07/27/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (HS) Willie is a coachable 2B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Willie shows efficient footwork and moves well laterally. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. His exchange is clan and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws to his target. Long tossing can help Willie build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in in a wide stance with comfortable hands. He gets into a simple load and works through a compact swing, producing solid contact. Willie can generate more pop off the barrel by driving his lower half more. With four more years to develop, Willie has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

06/13/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Troy (Albany), NY Willie continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 2B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active but needs to attack balls more and play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a closed setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

03/07/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Milton, NY Willie is a skilled, R/R 2B who graduates in 2025. Defensively, this quick MIF can move right and left as he has active prep footwork working well on the balls of his feet. He gathers smoothly and is quick glove to hand, getting rid of the ball quickly and efficiently. At the plate, this righty displays a balanced approach with centered balance. He steps into the box with a purpose and is looking to attack. Hands are quick generating good bat speed as he connects and shows some pop to his pull side. Kimbler is a talented MIF prospect who has upside and still a ton of time to progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
