Official Scouting Report

  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Xander Perrin is a long and lean 6ft 1/140 OF/RHP in the 2026 class. He recently impressed scouts with his two-way abilities at the BF Preseason All American Tournament. In the field, he has light feet (7.25 runner) and creates agile movements. He positions himself behind the baseball and works through with a squared fielding position. His pocket is clean and he creates a long 3 qtr slot to make accurate feeds. On the mound, he shows a projectable frame and is around the zone. He operates with a 2-pitch mx from a 3 qtr slot. His FB shows some cutting action at 73-5. His breaking pitch shaped 11-5 at 64-5. At the plate, he proves to be a high contact rate hitter and can spray to ball to all fields. Stays square to the dish and his balance is inside his feet. Shows smooth actions and creates a direct approach to the zone. Overall, Xander has excellent starting points to a very promising career on the diamond.

06/26/2023 - National Showcase - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Xander is a 2026 RHP/OF prospect from Pittsburgh, PA. In the OF, he shows off efficient feet, getting a good prep and into a good ready position. He gets in a squared fielding position and centers up the baseball, presenting his hands out in front to make all the routine plays. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws to the bag with a long arm action. At the plate, he starts in a tall, open stance and gets a squared stride to the pitcher with a good load back. His rhythm is smooth and he does a good job of keeping his balance centered throughout his swing, showing off some long levers in the process. He works hard to engage his lower half more but shows off an on-plane swing path to the baseball, squaring the ball up consistently and spraying the ball to all fields. He recorded a max exit velo of 80 MPH. On the mound, he throws from an over-the-top slot and commands the zone well. He gets on-time separation and extends through his release point. His landing is controlled and he does well to finish over his front knee with his chest. His FB showed some tail and his CB features 12-6 break. He throws his CH with FB arm speed and gets some tail on the pitch. Overall, Xander is an exciting prospect that we are excited to see more of as he enters his sophomore year of high school!

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
