11/01/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Futures South Curry is a well rounded and naturally talented player. He featured a short, quick right handed stroke. Strong wrists and forearms allow him to take full advantage of excellent hand-eye coordination, he consistently got the barrel to contact and generated backspin to carry the ball thru the gaps. Defensively, he showed quick feet and actions and maintained good body control. His arm stroke was compact, and he carried the ball across the infield well. He volunteered to pitch, and came out with a 84-87 fastball and solid breaking ball around 70 on a cold night. Overall, compact actions with usable hit and field tools to go with arm strength.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
