07/31/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Washington, DC Yahya is a C in the graduating class of 2028. At the plate, he starts in an athletic and closed stance with comfortable hands. Has a good base and simple swing. Shows quiet actions with centered balance. A direct barrel path as he sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 50mph during BP. Behind the plate, he presents a good target and has quiet actions. He does a good job getting his feet in line to throw down to 2B. Tries to create blocking angles while tucking his chin. Has a loose arm and a high 3/4 arm slot on his throws down. Yahya is a prospect that we expect to continue to develop with maturity.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
