05/29/2021 - 2021 BF National Florida Showcase Yoel is one of the most talented 2-way players in the 2022 class and he showed his wide range of abilities at this Factory event in Florida. He uses his long levers well in a clean, coordinated left-handed stroke that has leverage power (99 mph exit velocity) and good barrel control. Defensively, he is athletic (7.05 in the 60) at 1B and a good target with good hands and excellent natural feel around the bag. Yoel is also excellent on the mound with an extremely projectable 6'7" frame that gets downhill plane to all of his offerings. His fastball was up to 91 mph and his has very good secondary offerings in a curve with bite and a deceptive change. His arm stroke is loose and easy and it is easy to see him adding velocity. At this time he pounds the strike zone with 3 excellent offerings and he is a quality prospect both as a pitcher and position player.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Yoel continues to show as a top prospect at the All-America Pre-Season Tournament. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft / sure and he showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt, saving throws. Feet / hands work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry (93 mph velocity) on his throws. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, power potential is tremendous through a tall setup. Hands are quick generating bat speed (96 mph exit velocity) through an aggressive swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he has strength in his swing with gap to gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 86-89 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late / sharp break. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Yoel has the makings of a solid draft pick in 2022.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Yoel increased arm strength to 89 MPH, exit velocity to 91 MPH, and showed a spike in hitting grades during his time at the Pre-Season AA. He is a young, athletic, player with a high ceiling. At 1B, Yoel moves well to the ball, he fields cleanly, and makes all the plays. He has a clean exchange, funnels well, and throws with plus arm strength to his target. On the mound, Yoel touched 86 MPH, he has a good mound presence, and he attacks hitters. He has a clean arm stroke, his off-speed show well, and he finishes completely. At the plate, Yoel has good strength, a rhythmic swing, and good feel for the barrel. He stands in athletically, swings on plane, and works the ball gap to gap with pop.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Yoel has really improved his baseball abilities since we last saw him and has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now outstanding through a tall, open setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through ha level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 2 for 2 with a 3B and 4 BB as he shows a strong recognition of the strike zone. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve his foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has really improved, now showing as well above average as he threw his top velocity to date at 84 mph. Fastball showed a range of 83-84 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters, throwing strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Yoel has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

07/18/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Yoel is a 3B who continues to improve his game as he graduates in 2022. At the plate, he showed advanced actions as he showed fast twitch, natural movements. He starts from a square stance, firing his hands quickly to the baseball showing above average bat speed. He displayed a level swing plane which allowed him to spray to all fields consistently. Defensively he showed fluid actions in the infield with soft feet taking good angles. He fields out in front with soft hands leading to a clean exchange and strong throw across the diamond. Added strength will overall benefit Yoel. With smooth, athletic actions, and four years to develop Yoel is a solid prospect.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
