12/27/2012 - Pirate City Christmas Camp and Tournament Zac is a young 2014 grad who is a 2-way player as a 3B and RHP. He performed well at the Pirate City Christmas Tournament getting on base a high percentage of the time. He is a strong young man and generates some bat speed at the plate. He has good knowledge of the strike zone and makes solid contact when he keeps his swing short. He made great adjustments during the event with loading his hands, and once he did this, his swing looked great. He can work on shortening his swing and keeping his hands a little closer to his body. In the infield, Zac has sure hands and an accurate arm across the diamond. As his feet get quicker he will improve his range. He can also play a little lower to the ground and continue to work on improving his angles. Zac also pitched well at the event. He is aggressive on the mound and pounds the strike zone. His curve-ball acts as his out-pitch with a big sweeping break. His delivery is balanced with good tempo and he repeats it well. He looks comfortable and confident on the mound. Overall, Zac is an interesting 2-way player to follow over the next two years.
