05/21/2023 - National Showcase - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Zac is a 2024 C/3B out of Seymour, TN who is a prospect on the diamond. He continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with a bright future. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times shows in the 2.09 range with carry (83 mph velocity) on his throws. At 3B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is firm and presents out front. He utilizes his foot quickness (7.19 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting/power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. It will be exciting to see what the future holds for Zac as he enters the summer going into his senior year. He shows a lot of potential and will get looks from collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

05/01/2022 - All-In Membership - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Zac is a solid, athletic C/3B who has big upside on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Feet are aggressive as he gains ground and works in line to his target. Receiving/blocking skills show as outstanding tools that will play well. Pop times showed in 2.31 range. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid. Feet are active as he works to square balls up but needs to attack ball and play through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness (7.29 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with well above average power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Zac has potential and will get looks from collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
