12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Zach is a tall and lean 2024 C who showcased his talents at the BF Recruiting Classic. Behind the plate, he starts in an athletic position. He has a quiet head and tracks the ball well to his mitt. With runners on, he starts in an athletic stance and gains ground towards second base. He throws from a ¾ arm slot, had good accuracy, and had a raw velocity of 86 mph. He was quick on his release and had a best pop time was 2.13 seconds. At the plate, he has an open stance, comfortable hand placement, and an activated load. He had explosive bat speed, consistently hard contact, and a top exit velocity of 88 mph. He showed the ability to hit the ball well gap to gap during batting practice. In game, he also showed off his 6.89 second 60-yard dash speed picking up several stolen bases. Zach had a lot of energy and played the game fast. He proved to be a great leader which is a great attribute as a catcher. Zach is a great prospect and someone who college coaches will continue to keep an eye on.

05/28/2023 - National Showcase - Minneapolis, MN Zach is a C who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame lean build with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At C he has an easy sit and presents a big target. Has a low secondary stance, with his feet square, and has a loud mitt that pitchers love throwing to. He works his thumb under baseball and has a clean exchange. Has a long/loose arm stroke in back and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Good carry on his throws with an arm velocity up to 84mph and his best pop time was 2.15 seconds. A right-handed hitter he hit from an upright and open stance. Smooth rhythm to swing and is balanced throughout. Gets on-plane early and shows a fast barrel through the hitting zone. He hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 87mph during BP. With another year of development, we see Zach making huge strides on the baseball field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
