08/13/2023 - National Showcase - Honolulu, HI Zachary is an OF who is 2023 graduate. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. In the OF, good first step reads enables him to cover ground in all directions and make routine plays. Showed good lateral range as he works behind/through the baseball with a high 1-hand catch. Made accurate throws into infield from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 86mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and closed stance. Showed smooth timing to swing and showed ability to use all fields. Has a fast barrel through the zone with a high finish. Made hard contact as hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 86mph. We foresee Zachary having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

12/04/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Honolulu, HI Zachary is a talented OF in the 2023 class. In the field, he has active feet and centers his body to the baseball. Generates solid attack angles with agile feel. Gains an athletic fielding position with strong glove presentation. His exchanges are clean and uses a short and quick release. His feeds have depth and are accurate to the defender (83 velo). Scouts feel he has great upside as a defender. In the box, he has excellent bat speed (88 exit velo). Proves to be a line drive hitter who can hit both gaps. Swing has extension and the ball is on the barrel. Shows extreme balance and has a quiet head for pitch recognition. Overall, Zachary is a talented senior who will blossom with college coaching.

08/14/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Honolulu , HI Zachary continues to show improvements with his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. HE works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

06/16/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (HS) Zachary is a coachable OF who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series in Omaha. In the OF, he shows athletic actions with active/efficient footwork and creates good angles to the ball. Good 1st step reads as he works behind the baseball with a high 1-hand catch. He fields the ball out in front of his body and has a clean exchange. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and open stance with comfortable hands. Showed on-time rhythm to his swing with good barrel control. A flat barrel path enables him to hit line drives consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 77mph during BP. In live game action, he reached base 6 times with 4 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. Overall, Zachary is a solid player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/12/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Honolulu, HI Zachary is an OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the field, Zachary shows efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields with a firm glove. His exchange is clean and he makes on-line throws to his target. Long tossing can help Zachary build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid to load and drives through well with his lower half, producing consistent contact. Zachary can generate more pop off the barrel by getting more weight transfer in his load. Overall, Zachary is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

08/15/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Honolulu, HI Zachary is a SS who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame thin build with some strength present and plenty of room to develop. In the infield, who showed active feet and ability to make routine plays. Good crossover steps enables him to create good fielding angles. He work to center the baseball and fields from a square fielding position with his hands out front. Long/loose arm action into a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 78mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and square stance. Starts with short/square stride, as he glides into contact point, and keeps his hands inside the baseball. Has a middle of the field approach and keeps barrel above baseball. Hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 70mph during BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
