Official Scouting Report

  • 5Class Rating
  • RHP/OFPosition Projection

03/12/2023 - National Showcase - Glendale (Phoenix), AZ Zachary is a 2024 RHP/OF prospect with a tall, strong frame at 6'6" 210 pounds. In the OF, he does a great job of working behind the baseball. He has efficient feet and covers good ground on fly balls. He gets in an athletic fielding position and presents his hands out in front of his body. He knows how to work downhill towards his throwing target and gets good carry on his throws. Throws are accurate and he hits his cutoff consistently. At the plate, he starts with a tall, open stance and takes a short stride towards the pitcher. His balance is centered and his lower half does a great job of leading. Shows off a ton of strength in the box and recorded a max exit velo of 89 MPH. Makes consistently loud contact and works the gaps. On the mound, he features a 3/4 arm angle and loose arm action. He gets exceptional drive with his lower half and good extension. FB reached a top velo of 80 MPH and featured some arm side run. CB has good shape and his CH provides a nice velocity difference from his FB. Shows off some deception to the hitter, and does a great job of rotating to his target. Excited to see his growth with over a year left of high school development.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
