09/22/2010 - Under Armour Fall Classic - 2010 Horn improved his low end release time from 2.14 down to 2.09. He threw the ball very well, footwork along with exchange and release were solid and under control - allowing him to make strong and accurate throws in the 2.1 range. His hands were strong to receive, and he sat well behind the plate. Blocking was solid as well, but he was most impressive in his overall presence behind the plate. He has some room to clean up his mechanics to throw and receive, but clearly has the aptitude to make those adjustments. At the plate, he showed a fluid and loose left handed stroke. Worked from an open stance with a big stride, caused him to be a bit late to launch at times which forced him to hit with just his hands and arms. An adjustment to simplify in this area would make sense, would help him maximize his good hands and line drive stroke. Overall, a great young man with leadership qualities and excellent aptitude. Has a bright future in baseball, or whatever he chooses to pursue.
