10/19/2014 - College PREP - Lexington, KY Zach is a strong, athletic LHP that will graduate in 2017. Delivery is repeatable as he uses his lower half well and allows his arm action to work long and well to the plate through an over the top arm slot. Arm strength is solid as he topped out at 82 mph. Fastball shows a range of 77-82 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup showing a feel for with fading action. Off speed stuff show potential to be quality pitches at the next level. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches through a quick / fast tempo. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Zach has an upside on the mound and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his abilities on the mound.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
