10/26/2014 - College PREP - Stillwater (Minneapolis), MN Zachary is a 5'10/185 lbs LHP that will graduate in 2016. The hurler topped out at 73 MPH with his FB that had sink from the low 3/4 arm slot. He mixed a CB at 63-66 and threw a CH, which proved to be his best pitch, with run from 59-66. Mechanically, he had some feel, but could get himself to a more controlled balance point which would then lead to a greater tempo and control. Offensively, he flashed some pop with his oppo approach. He generates decent bat speed and stays accurate with his barrel to hit. In all - Zachary is a promising southpaw with a lot of upside with his pitchers frame.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
