01/25/2015 - College PREP - San Diego, CA Zachary is a talented 2-way player (3B/RHP) who has a strong/projectable build (6'2"/185). At the hot corner, he shows smooth/athletic actions working into a square fielding position behind the GB. Ball is quick/clean from glove to hand with strong throws across the diamond. He makes the backhand play look easy and gains ground toward 1B. Offensively, this RHH has a balanced approach with rhythm to load. He whips the barrel to and through the zone as he connects with strength. The ball jumps off of his barrel to all parts of the field. On the mound, Sherman has an effective 3-pitch mix coming from a 3/4 arm slot and loose/free arm action. He is compact throughout his delivery with good glove side lead, driving downhill toward the dish. FB cracks the mitt at 84 mph with heavy/late life. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with sharp/late action showing to be a solid out pitch. He mixes his pitches well and throws all of them for strikes. This 2016 grad has the skills that will play at a high level. Zachary is one to keep an eye on over his remaining HS years.
