08/21/2010 - College PREP - Purchase, NY Zak is a big, strong, 2-way player that Pitches and plays 1B. On the mound, Zak works in good tempo and he gets to his balance point well. He repeats his delivery, keeps his arm speed the same with all of his pitches, and he competes in the zone. If Zak can improve his glove side lead, tap into more lower 1/2, and add arm strength, mound effectiveness will further improve. In the INF, Zak has playable hands, he makes the routine plays, and has life in his arm. He throws with some accuracy across the diamond, and with lighter feet and fielding the ball further out in front of his body, defensive skills can get better. At the plate, Zak is an aggressive hitter with a level swing plane. He has a still head and can spray the ball to all fields. A looser grip, shorter stroke, and not pulling off the ball will help offensive grades spike.
