12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Zander is an athletic 5 ft 4/101 SS/RHP in the 2029 class out of Missoula, MT. He recently impressed scouts with his actions and energy at the West Coast Winter Classic. In the field, he gains a positive 1st step and takes agile angles to the baseball. His field to release is quick and displays a loose 3 qtr. arm slot. His throws are accurate, and his arm plays at 62-66 velo. On the mound, he is a workhorse and pounds the zone. Does an excellent job of staying on top of the baseball and throws downhill. His FB sat 50-5 and he pitched to contact. He is developing his CB and once he gains a feel for the grip, he will compliment his FB. At the plate, he is an aggressive hitter. He looks for his pitch and likes to attack. Showed well in game action with 3 singles and an RBI. Scouts would like for him to work on a squared stride to maximize his plate coverage. Overall, Zander has solid starting points to begin a promising career.

08/27/2023 - National Showcase - Missoula, MT Zander is a 2030 SS/RHP prospect with a lean frame. At short, he shows off quick feet and takes good angles to the baseball. He gets in an athletic fielding position and does a good job of presenting firm hands out in front when fielding. He showed off a smooth backhand. His exchange is quick and he is able to make accurate throws from multiple arm slots. He does a good job with timing around the bag on double plays. At the plate, he starts in a tall, squared stance with a short stride and a good load. He has a firm frontside with his lower half and lets his hips work through contact. He does a nice job of getting good extension when finishing. He has a line drive approach and sprays the middle of the field. On the mound, he throws from an over-the-top slot and has a good attitude. He shows off a good tempo and works hard to get on-time separation and drive to the plate with his lower half. His CB has good spin and his CH can be an effective pitch with more refinement. Overall, Zander is an athlete we are very excited to see continue to develop!

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
