06/03/2020 - 2020 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Zaylen is an athletic two-way prospect who showed well during Baseball Factory's National Florida Showcase. In the field, Zaylen moves well laterally and fields with sure hands. His plus arm plays well from the hot corner, firing strong throws across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to great gap to gap pop. On the mound, Zaylen gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Zaylen shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 88mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 74-76mph with late 10-4 break. Overall, Zaylen is a talented prospect who shows upside as both a position player and pitcher.

09/28/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures East Zaylen is an athletic 3B/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At 3B, Zaylen is agile moving to the ball and fields with soft hands. He flashes a clean exchange and makes strong throws through his target. At the plate, Zaylen shows an aggressive approach and works to drive the ball. On the mound, Zaylen operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 86mph with good movement. Breaking ball sits from 74-79mph with late 9-3 break. Overall, Zaylen is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

05/14/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Tampa, FL Zaylen is an athletic, 2-way player at SS/RHP. Defensively at SS, he displays quick footwork as he works around the GB. He fields the ball athletically with soft hands and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. On the hill, this righty works downhill and delivers with loose/clean arm action. He drives his lower 1/2 off the rubber, has a strong frontside and finishes square towards his target. At the plate, Zaylen is a power hitter with an athletic setup. The ball jumps off his bat as he whips his barrel quickly through the zone. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
